Press Day #TheRook @starz (Premieres Summer 2019)Olivia Munn Instagram: Press Day #TheRook @starz (Premieres Summer 2019)
One time while doing press with Jen, the interviewer asked me a question that really had no upside. It was a total clickbait question that would’ve been the headline instead of what we were there to promote. In those moments I don’t always know what to do, and often fumble my way through trying to answer with a non-answer but end up saying too much 🤦🏻‍♀️ But before I could even start, Jen jumps in and shuts it down saying something like “What are you doing??” (Interviewer laughs awkwardly and tries to ask her question again) Jen shuts her down again and doesn’t allow the question to be brought back up. ❤️ I can’t properly describe the surprise and gratitude I felt in that moment. She stood up for me when she didn’t have to, when she could have been painted by that interviewer to look like “the bitch” in that situation. (And yes she is very famous and successful so one might think that gives her more confidence in these moments, but I’ve seen many people at her level do the exact opposite). A lot of people don’t want to stand up for others because of the possible blowback they might endure, choosing to be there as a comforting shoulder afterwards instead. There’s nothing wrong with not wanting to get involved, it’s completely understandable. That’s why Jen standing up for me in that moment meant so so much to me, because it’s not what most people do. If she did that one small thing so effortlessly for me, I can only imagine all of the other moments she’s lifted up and protected others. Thank God there are people like her in the world. HBD Jen! 🎂❤️🎈Olivia Munn Instagram: One time while doing press with Jen, the interviewer asked me a question that really had no upside.
