“The most memorable moment happened in 2006 when I first met then Sen. Barack Obama and participated in the first ‘Yes We Can’ training class. I was still new to politics and was having a hard time connecting with people in the field. Getting accepted into the program was the first time I felt special and the first time I encountered an elected official who was genuinely interested in supporting me and my fellow classmates. He wanted to expand opportunities for African Americans and Latinos in politics. He wanted us to have a seat at the table.” Gregory Lorjuste, 37, -from Irvington, NJ by way of Brooklyn, NY- started in July of 2008 on the Obama Campaign as the Director of Scheduling for the State of Virginia. “@mastro175, remembered me from the ‘Yes We Can’ training and first introduced me to scheduling. She took me in with open arms and sent me to Virginia during the 08 campaign. We won the state for the first time since 1964.” “I was part of the Obama Administration for all eight years serving as a scheduler first term and eventually becoming the Director of Scheduling during the second term.  Because I admire President Obama and Mrs. Obama so much, I haven’t had enough of them, lol, so I joined the Office of Barack and Michelle Obama’s personal team since leaving the White House. I serve as Director of Scheduling for POTUS44.” “Whatever I do in the future, I want it to have an impact on the less fortunate, the underserved and the youth. Walking into the office on the first day, I had no idea what challenges lay ahead, but I didn’t care; I wanted to play a small role in the history that would unfold. The opportunity to serve a transformational leader like President Obama was a dream come true and I am proud to have been there for every minute of it.” @glorjuste, @jackimages, @barackobama, #obamanauts, #yeswedidbook, #political, #portraitphotography, #POTUS44, @michelleobama, #obamanautsJames Brown Instagram: Congrats to my good friend @glorjuste and his accomplishments.
