Adam Sandler Returns!

Most of us know and love the movies of Adam Sandler. For those that grew up in the 1990s, much of our childhood was formed by memorable characters like Billy Madison and his unforgettable quotes. In the late 2000s, Adam Sandler seemed to fall off the face of the world. We explore where he went and how he plans to return.


The 90’s were filled with amazing Adam Sandler movies. He starred in 11 movies during the decade with some movies released in the same year.  He is best known for his role in Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, and Big Daddy. But he also starred in many other beloved movies such as Airheads.


Adam Sandler starred in 16 movies in the 2000s. This decade saw some of Sandler’s best roles where he expanded is acting beyond humor. This decade saw movies like Punch-Drunk-Love, 50 First Dates, Click, and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. He starred in movies alongside Jack Nicholson in Anger Mangement and Chris Rock in The Longest Yard.

2010 and Beyond

We heard less from Sandler in the decade following the stellar 2000s. This is surprising because looking at the numbers, he never went away. He starred in 15 movies this decade. This includes the popular Grown Ups franchise. Now Sandler stars with Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, and Emma Thompson in the Noah Baumbach film, The Meyerowitz Stories. The film has scored 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics are raving about the movie. Welcome back, Adam Sandler!
